Thanks Chaz for the ID, i am hopeless when it comes to naming them, still its mainly due to my age and lack of knowledge.

    Debsie,
Seeing any bird is a matter of luck. When we were at Minsmere in the spring we turned up early one morning just as a guide was collecting his flock for a bittern and marsh harrier tour. We went off on our own and saw two bitterns and four marsh harriers. Returning to the centre for coffee we met the guide and his flock again. They had drawn a blank on both species. We didn't have the heart to tell 'em, thought it better just to sympathise.
If you get this message let me know, as I'm not sure if I'm doing this message stuff right.

Thank you for all your lovely comments and advice on my photo's. But don't think that means I've forgiven you for getting a photo of a Cuckoo, Dartford Warbler, or a Bittern!!!!!! Especially the Bittern, as Minsmere is my favourite haunt . I've lost count how many times I've been there and not seen one.

Thanks Amanda for the message. The best advice I can give is take lots of photos! I was photographing some nesting redstarts yesterday. I took about 60 shots, several of which were deleted at the computer straight away. Of course with a digital camera there is no cost involved, apart from the chore of sifting through them for the good 'uns!
