Made another trip down to Far Ings on south side of the Humber Bridge, it has large reed beds and many areas of open water and good selection of hides. The weather was bitterly cold with light snow showers and heavy frost, most open water areas were frozen over.
Birds seen over the three days at Far Ings LWT and Waters Edge Country Park (28 - 30 December 2009).
Little Grebe
Cormorant
Grey Heron
Mute Swan
Greylag Goose

After what seemed like a very long time I finaly managed to get a couple of days to myself. I visited a friend in Barton-upon-humber for a couple of days and got back at 1am this morning after a gruelling 8 hour drive in arctic conditions.
Far Ings is a superb reserve near the south side of the Humber Bridge, it has large reed beds and many areas of open water and good selection of hides. The weather was bitterly cold with light snow showers and heavy frost.

Decided to hop on the train to Cardross, hadn't been for a while. Arrived at 9.20am and headed west along the shore to view the adjacent farmland fields, seen Skylark, Meadow Pipit, Linnet, Chaffinch, Greenfinch, Reed Bunting, Dunnock, House Sparrow, Starling, Blackbird, Collared Dove, Woodpigeon, Carrion Crow, Rook, Jackdaw and Magpie there.
I then headed back towards Cardross and seen Pied Wagatail, Redshank, Curlew Lapwing, Red-breasted Merganser, Mallard, Wigeon, Great Black-backed Gull,...

I'm in the middle of a nightshift from hell, had to take a break before I collapsed
Earlier today had great views of a male Kingfisher, did I have my camera with me...no
