You haven't caused any confusion - that already existed. there have been 2 or 3 occasions when I've have mixed up curlew and whimbrel ID's.
I won't go so far as to put a dunces cap on like Peter though!

Don't just take my word for it being a Curlew, i am not that good at ID on birds, so seek an opinion from someone who knows more about birds.

You could be right about the whimbrel pic - usually I get corrected whenever I ID curlew or whimbrel. I can't see an eye stripe so maybe it is a curlew.

Thank you very much for the comment on Young Mr JD, these birds frequent our garden regular after the fat cake i put out there.
