    Hi Mike you are correct some guides call it a Horned Lark but we know it as a Shore Lark. It's not a very common bird hence all the interest. But we do get them in this country on passage but I think sightings are normally down south around Kent and East Anglia so its quite unusual up here in the North West. I believe they have bred in Scotland in the past but I'm not so sure about now. We get a small handful in this country over wintering every year but not in very large numbers so its quite a joy to see one up here. I'm led to believe the last one we had staying a while in this particular area was a few years back. I hope this helped answer your question mike.
