Your correct Denhall Lane is at the bottom of the road. Just to remind you Inner marsh is shut on tuesdays forgot to mention it earlier. Take your wife to Parkgate old baths car park after you've been to IMF. She can get a nice ice cream from the shop there. Supposed to be the best around. Went there Saturday afternoon before it went dark and got really good views of Barn Owl and Short Eared Owl as well as Hen Harrier. Barn Owl comes out at 4 o clock everyday someone there informed me Saturday. Have a good time whatever you do and good luck.

Hi Merlin sorry for late reply again. I was out all day yesterday getting soaked at Sizergh Castle but I did see a couple of Hawfinch which I was more than happy about. Inner Marsh opens at 9 but I have been about half 8 and its been open. Think it just depends on what time the warden gets there. But if you get there early and its shut you can just pop down the end of the road and give the marsh a scan.

Hi Merlin equally sorry for my late reply to you. My laptop went down on Sunday and i've just got it back on today. I have been to see the Dowitchers twice this week. I went Sunday and again this afternoon. There was one present Saturday but there has been two since Sunday morning. Quite amazing to get one never mind two. But I did say in my blog I had a feeling something was around the corner. Hen Harriers are starting to arrive back now around Burton. Have had some marvelous views of a ringtail in front of the hide at Inner Marsh Farm. Hope you get a better day on your next visit.

Yes Merlin I get over to Burton and Parkgate quite often. There are a lot of great places for birding on the Wirral. The Dee Estuary was fantastic last winter for over wintering raptors. With up to 15 Hen Harrier being counted in one day. There is a great place to watch them at Parkgate. It was also a great winter for Short-eared Owl with some people estimating up to 30+. Anything you need to know i'll try to give you some jizz. And when I say quiet day yesterday I suppose i'm just being greedy. Keep reading about all the rarities turning up all around the country. Think I would just be happy with a Little Stint or a Curlew Sandpiper in among the waders.

Keep yourself a spare copy. I'm not sure about the review feature and am looking into it.

Hi Merlin, Thanks for the directory listings. I've approved them.

    Greater Manchester

I've added the images to the individual galleries. To do this you need to copy the website image and save it to your disk. Then click Add Image when creating a link. Navigate to the images and add them. This creates a gallery for the listing and makes a thumbnail. Voila!
