Do you use a hide/camouflage/or whatever to get so close to them
or just a super duper lens

I use a Sigma 150-500 lens. It's big, heavy and a pain to lug about but sometimes it almost works. Sorry, sometimes I almost get it right.
At LM I'm in the hides and anywhere else there's a hide. Out and about I wear subdued colours and sneak about.
Different birds react in different ways. Robins are probably the most trusting and I almost coaxed one in to my palm on Friday. Some birds you can't get near, these are the ones that I want to photograph. I'll keep trying and hope that i get lucky.
Oh, and you need to develop quick reactions and patience. Unfortunately I have neither.
I'm hopefully going to Stanley Park and Marton Mere tomorrow so I may be posting more photos later in the week.
