Hi martyn, the tubs of seed on the lane are ok,but noticed some in the field full of corn, haven't worked out if the farmer has put them there to stop his corn been eaten.Because there is also a holding pen with water and more food,it had Phesents in it!would the farmer be looking after the Phesents!!!!!?

Hi Actor, you have some great photos, they feel so natural, like you have taken a snap shot of the birds life without disturbing them.

I think the cormorants I see out here are the same as back home. The one in the picture is a juvenile I believe. There is another type of cormorant called the Socotra Cormorant which can be seen in the middle east and indian Ocean but I've not knowingly seen one yet.

A big thanks for the comment on my Jackdaw image, they are very skittish birds and you have to take them by surprise!.

    Best regards Paul

I went to Leighton Moss today, 08/10/09, on the train, no less. And whilst I was there I saw a bittern, great white egret, coal tit, shoveler and a fleeting glimpse of a water rail. These are all firsts for me, I don't know what birders call firsts. There where other birds there but these I had seen before so I won't name them. I also saw 3 red deer hinds but no sign of the stag although I was informed that he had been seen today.

I tried a pair of 600 bins. Quite nice but way too...
