    Thanks for the kind comment, Yosmite. I do find carting the DSLR and the 500mm lens around quite a trial, so I don't get quite as many snaps as I might (I often choose to take the spotting scope instead). Could have done with the camera with me on Monday, when i saw my first ever firecrest.

    Thanks for your comments on my album photos - much appreciated. I've been very fortunate to be able to get some good views of ospreys while I've been working out here in Abu Dhabi.
    You've got some cracking shots in your album also - keep uploading them - this forum is a great way for me to keep up with what's happening birdwise back home. I'm sure you agree there a great set of people on here. Ian

    Thanks for looking at my golfinch shot. l'm lucky to see him every day as he comes to my bird feeder theres about six that come to it everyday.

    Thank you for your kind comments of my photo's. I only got a macro len's this year, so it was very much a learning kurb. Taking macro shot's is very different from trying to get wildlife 100ft away!! I still have alot to learn, but was fascinated seeing the bugs so close up. So I'm going to try and do a lot more macro next year. I've just added you to my friends, Thank you for the request. Debbie
