As a cat owner and having had a cat squashed on the road (anonymously) I would have been extremely grateful for a knock at the door. I didn't get one and a neighbour found him. All very distressing but I cannot understand the verbal abuse. Cats run across roads and risk their nine lives regularly so it should come as no suprise that one day their luck runs out and I do feel sorry for the drivers because it is mostly impossible to stop in time. Conversely one of my still living cats got struck by a car and the driver rushed him off to the vets and was very concerned about him. Thankfully he was micro-chipped so we were reunited and after a few days of nursing was back to normal. I was given the phone number of the driver and I spoke with her to give my thanks and to find out what happened. I was just so grateful to her that to scold her for running into my cat never entered my head.
Some people eh? You did the right thing Ruth and from all the sensible feline owners in the UK.......thank you.
