Brught, sunny and bitterly cold all day. Then this afternoon it started to snow. Now it has all started to thaw.

left the house at 4.10am for work, everything solid ice, no gritters to be seen and plenty of snow left from last nights blizzards. First delivery was up to Perth store, A9 well gritted, warmed up to between 1 and 2 degrees for the rest of the day with occasional snow showers, heavy snow at 15.45 just in time for me finishing but its off now, expecting it to be really cold up here again tonight.

You didn't happen to notice whether there was an Oystercatcher perched on an old hoarding alongside the roundabout on the A9 just outside Bridge of Allan?

Have just got in from a trek around Marton Mere after work this morning. It's a beautiful sunny winters day now, the light and shadows on the snow are dazzling and it's a balmy 4 degrees C.

A bit of a difference from 3am this morning when me and 3 other nurses were sheltering from a snow blizzard in the bike shelters, determined to get our fags lit !!

Been snowing most of the day but had a walk up Werneth Low when it stopped, and just had to call into the pub for a Hot Toddy.

Hasn't been above freezing here all day, but no sign of any snow yet, nice and sunny though. Took me ages to get the frost off the 4X4 this morning as it hasn't been used for a couple of weeks. Thought I'd got it clear after about 20mins of scraping and de-icing only to discover when I got in it that it was frosted on the inside too! Just made it to the hospital for my appointment only to be told that I should have been there yesterday! The consultant took pity on me though and fitted me in at the end of the clinic.
