That is a super sunset image!

The 'weather thread' is a good one to post Sunset pics on. Always good to see sunset images wherever you post them on the forum.

Beautiful!

There was thread back in September 2013 that contained lots of sunset images, but I've just checked it out and at least the photos I posted have disappeared although the posts are still there.

Still - yours is a great image, thanks.

Nobody's posted any sunset pictures for a while, but the view from the garden this evening just HAD to be photographed:

Lovely pictures Judith - big skies and wide horizons.

The skies the other night really did look as if they were on fire, and just in case anyone was wondering, these are completely unretouched photographs straight from the SD card .

Default One for Peter?

Took the dog for his run on the usual beach this evening in the hope of a spectacular sunset. Unfortunately the skies to the west and north were a pretty much unbroken blanket of grey cloud, but this was the view south across Liverpool Bay and the Mersey and Dee estuaries towards north Wales and Snowdonia:

That, to me, is spectacular.

And to me Peter; breathtaking in "real time". And it was so still too, with thousands of waders along the distant tide line. Mostly Godwits Oyster Catchers and Sanderlings at a guess; they were too far away and it was nearly dark at sea level for reliable id. My only (unreasonable) complaint was that the Snowdon range and Snowdon itself (just off-camera right) was crystal clear but the edge of the grey cloud cover just reached that far and spoiled what really could have been a spectacular shot. A black silhouette against a grey background just didn't do it.

Some lovely pictures on this thread, this is one I took last November as the sun set over Stobrough Heath.
