I don't see the point of having a FB page as we have the forum here for discussion. Wouldn't it just make another place to have to visit to see what's being posted? It would mean to get fully involved in this forum everyone would have to be on Facebook too. I know some are resistant to using FB.

Same here!

Why go elsewhere when all we need is here?

Thanks Peter! It seems the general feeling is that FB is best left alone

I'm going to try an experiment, the facebook page, which allegedly belongs to this site (although I see little crossover) seems regularly active. As I said before I don't see the point of having both, but both there is.

I'm going to try posting on the facebook page, but only links to stories going on here and see if it attracts any of the facebook regulars into forum regulars.

Im really pleased to see so many people using the facebook page now. Just a thought, but it seems the main interaction is for showing photographs. I use the page sometimes for this reason as i find it easy to upload a photo on to fb from my ipad. I dont have access to a pc most of thime so i find this the easiest way. Is there a possibility of altering settings so photos on fb can be seen on the forum. I know this is what you were trying to do Peter, or that the forum would allow uploads from an ipad or phone? THis may be beyond possibility as could be more of a mac issue. Here's a thought, what about a birding uk app???
