Ruth, your disappearing cursor has nothing to do with this forum, or any other sebsite come to that.

How old is your laptop? Your problem is probably due to inadequate memory. As programs and websites get more sophisticated they use more and more RAM; eventually there is insufficient to run utilities like mouse pointers etc.

What make and model is your laptop? And how much RAM does it have on board?

You might also try deleting temporary internet files; that might free up enough space for the mouse pointer to work properly.

My laptop is 12 months old and has 396GB free of 449GB.

That's one hell of a laptop Ruth!

I think you're confusing RAM and ROM; ROM is what's on the hard disk and that sounds like the 396/449 Gb you're describing.

That said, any laptop as young as yours with a hard disk that asize should have more than enough RAM, so I suspect it's the temp files that are to blame.

Just by way of a double-check do you have any anti malware on board if so run it.

If not here's the link for some

The free version is perfectly adequate

With respect Ruth, McAfee will not find all malware.
