Nikon Sporter EX 8x42

To assist my photography I decided I need some not overly expensive bins.
I've narrowed it down to these without having tried any of any make ever but I can get them at 129 delivered which seems excellent. Any comments advice besides I should really try before I buy??
Thanks Andy

Well I'm too keen to wait any longer so bought the Opti watsits. If they're crappo they'll go back on ebay. I have faith that they will be OK tho. I'll report my review in the Opticron section once I have them.

Well I have them in hand this evening and I'm pleased with the look feel and close focus. Seem very well made. I'll give a full report after the weekend trip to Bempton Cliffs.

Meanwhile I've ordered some Bushnell 8x42 H20 for mrs T less than 60 delivered from Amazon and I'll post in the Bushnell section on those.

I badly need a good pair of bins so I'll be interested to hear your report on them. :)

Well Maggie. Having bought the 8x42 Opticron discovery first I can say with 100% confidence that they are twice as good as these Bushnells. I've just ordered a pair of 10x42 Opticron to complement them.

Sorry Techno.

I got a pair of bins at Barton Broads with Niel Rigby who suggested after my urging for him to decide what he thought was best there.
Some guy was selling bins in the centre and I got a pair of Hawke endurance 8x42 which are a lot better than what I had before. Bit heavy though.

Nikon Bins

I realise this is an old thread; but I'm thinking of getting either a Nikon Prostaff 7s or a Nikon Monarch 5, I quite like the monarch5. Your thoughts Gentlemen? I have the Opticron Oregon 8 x 32. but would like the 8 x 42 for wider view. Opticron are excellent for the money.
