Smile Nikon D80

Cheers Dave!

Great to have someone on board with your knowledge! The self cleaning sensor will have to be investigated.

Neil, with the release of the D300, quite a lot of second hand D200's are on the market right now and these do have a a self clean option.
My other half bought one quite reasonably of the bay, a lot of proffessionals are upgrading.

Thanks for the tip off Chrissy, I shall have a look at the Nikon D200 as I want to make my money go as far as possible!

Neil, just a thought, it is a great camera but you do need to know a little more than you would with the D80. The D80 has an auto and sports mode which you will have seen some people use a lot. In fact I rarely use any of the modes, I tend to shoot in either apperture priority or manual with a spot focus for bird photography. Therefore it doesn't bother me to switch between Andy's or mine...
It is always more difficult when you don't know the level where someone would like to enter...
and then of course we move into lenses....

Default Nikon D80 vs D200

Interesting points. I used to use my Olympus OM2 with the aperture in auto mode to level the meter.

I was going to ask about lenses as I was wondering if they are cross compatible?

Let's redirect to our Birding Camera Lenses forum to discuss lenses further.
