Default Nikon D3000

The nikon D3000 my first ever DSLR camera,a great wee camera with a Guide mode to help newbies like me..it comes with a 18-5511 kit lens so I got myself a Tamron AF70-300F/4-5.6di lens for taking bird pictures, but was thinking of getting the nikon 55-300mm vr lens as I don't have the bucks to get the bigger lenses..can anyone tell me if this would be worth it or to stick to what I've got
Cheers Kenny

For the moment I would stick with what you have, you won't see a major difference between the two zooms.
As I found out the hard way, taking photos of small birds is a lot harder than it looks. Size matters and even my Sigma 150-500mm lens is too small, ( until a swan sails past ).
I'm reasonably happy with this Sigma lens, just about affordable, unlike the big lenses from the major manufacturers which would mean doing a part exchange for my car. It's pretty hefty though, fine when you are in a hide but not the thing to stroll around with.
