I havea tripod but lugging it around is a pain at times. I set up for a shot then another bird flies by and I can't get it becuase the cam is on the tripod. Then I take the cam off, and a bird poses nicely in the distance but I can't steady it too well.

I'll only use the tripod for scenic shots now and use what there is at hand to steady a shot the best I can.
A monopod would probably be better at times.

I have also sorted my RAW image uploading. I was using an external hub/usb thingy on the PC which slowed the process down of waiting to see thepics in a folder, even my jpg were getting slower to load.
Took the tower out, and put in a few more USB connections and the pics load quicker now.
I had the usb ports in before but I had not pushed it in hard enough to the mother board.

Might go back to shooting RAW again now
