Question Nikon D70

Nikon D70
The Nikon D70 is a digital single-lens reflex camera, introduced in 2004, as Nikon's first affordable consumer-level digital SLR, and a competitor to the Canon EOS 300D. It was succeeded initially by the Nikon D70s and then by the Nikon D80 and Nikon D90.

Are you using the Nikon D70 for bird photography?

Any comments or experiences?

I enjoyed using my D70s. I bought it used (Ebay) and recently sold it to buy a (used) D80. A good D70s body should be around the £180 mark, a little more if you buy from a reputable dealer (recommended).
As far as I am aware, it isn't available new.
It supports RAW mode which is a plus for post processing and optimising images.
At 6M pixel it makes a good job of prints around the 8x10 to 10x12 sizes and is more than capable (overkill) for web quality images. (Given that high quality magazine images are printed at 300dpi)

In use, it has good, intuitive controls and menuing system.

For birding, I believe that this is governed by the lens you attach. This body will accept most AF, AFD and AFG lenses from the film lens line-up.

Given that a D80 can be obtained for only a little more, its appeal is a little diminished.
