A camera shop recommended one of these and I'm quite tempted. It was recommended before they knew I was a traditional Olympus SLR user.
One of the advantages was that it has the vibration reduction within the camera as opposed to in the lens. This means you can use any lens which is compatible with Olympus. Having said that, my old Olympus fit Zuico lens are not highly recommended in use with the Olympus E-520, although they will work. ![]() I am also looking at Nikon D70, D80 and D90 depending on budget. Any thoughts on how the Olympus E-520 holds up against these cameras? |

Hi Neil,
Nice little forum you got here. I got the E450 if your still curious and am very happy with it even with me being a total SLR novice, the E520 should be just the ticket for an experienced photographer such as yourself but the E520 price is inflated right now. Even a used 520 is almost as much as a new one with a year or so wait halving current prices hopefully ![]() Check the following link for some picture samples from legacy OM lenses, note the AF confirm adapter which has a small chip to communicate with the cam. biofos.com: OM lens data sheets. Theres a few digicams used but not specifically the E4xx or E5xx series though I imagine similiar results would be had with either though the pen tested above may be the closest. I did post a couple of pics in the gallery from my E450 as well though they lose a lot in compression unfortunately. Happy reading
