I`m glad you like your Opticrons. I think they are good value for money. Cheers Paul

I had dropped hints about a pair of Opticron Oregon 8x32 for Christmas, due to an old eye problem I was recommended to opt for wide f.o.v. and these seemed to tick most boxes inc. price(2 year old grandsons can be expensive at Christmas). There was a parcel arrived this morning from Green Witch so maybe the wife saw the letter to Santa. If so I will report on the bins a little later in the month. This big kid still believes in Father Christmas so please do not mock me!!

Hope the chest clears up soon. Touch wood, I've been clear of things so far this winter.

Managed to get out and try the new Oregons out today on our local reserve, first impressions were favourable. They come with a nice case which would be comfy to carry if I used cases for that, the padded binocular strap was great and surprised me for a budget set of bins.In the field I was impressed with the wide field of view (one reason for buying them) and very easy to set up and use.Even though they are a smallish binocular they were still easy to use with gloves on.The light gathering was impressive for a 32mm objective lens and quite usable even as the light went down in the late afternoon. For a first field trial I was impressed and look foreward to a lot of birding with them.
