Hi Mike,

I've never been, but it looks a good place. Here's a link: The RSPB: Lochwinnoch: About Lochwinnoch

According to google maps, it's about a 2 hour drive.

Theres a "lodge" accross the road from the Loch main entrance, where the shop and staff are based.
I think it's a hotel. Forget the name of it.
There is no cost unless you want to use a hide and I think they charge you £2.00. That's access to the tower as well. Probably best to bring a snack but there is the village shops.
You probably wont get charged for a hide if you are a member of something like the RSPB.
And ther's a "Hungry Monk" not too far from the main entrance also.
There is a railway link to the loch and buses.
