Default Mugdock Country Park

Good Morning,

My Mum and I took a walk around our local country Park. We saw Pheasants, Mallards, Greylag Geese, Tufted Ducks, a Heron and other birds including a young Buzzard. But one of the birds we heard possibly 3 Chiffchaffs. I was wondering whether hearing a Chiffchaff was a real sign that spring is here.

On the Duck pond we saw Tufted Ducks and Greylag Geese and Gulls.
We heard pheasants and chiffchaff in the appropriately named Pheasant's wood. The Buzzard was on the moorland. The Mallards and Heron was on Mugdock Loch. The other place we heard Chiffchaff was in the Woods by the East Car Park.

Best Wishes

Jonathan

Sounds like a good park and you had a good day. I may visit there next week. Especially as I didn't know there were pheasants there.

Sounds a lovely walk you had with your Mum, Jonathan! Chiffchaffs are one of the birds heralding Spring, lovely to hear their chiffing and a chaffing!
