Default Forth & Clyde Canal

Good Afternoon. A Friend and I walked from Westerton Railway Station to "The Stables"Pub. een Torrance and Kirkintilloch. We saw Moorhen, Mute Swans and Mallards. We passed 2 Swan's Nest. One Between the Bearsden Road Bridge and "Lock 27" Pub and the other nest is by the Maryhill Road Bridge. We turned left at Stockingfield Junction (by way of the Lochburn Road Bridge) and we then passed at least 4 families of Ducklings. They looked very young maybe a few days old. We then caught the Bus back to Bearsden via Glasgow Buchanan Bus Station.

It sounds a good walk you had, Jonathan! A lovely time of year with all the 'babies' hatching now!

Default Forth & Clyde Canal

Thanks for your replies. We haven't seen any cygnets yet. But we will keep our eyes and ears open for young birds.

We have a pair nesting on the canal just along from us and theirs usually hatch anytime after the 20th May, hope to post some pics when they're hatched
