Default Dowles Brook, Wyre Forest.

A sunny afternoon was spent at Dowles Brook with Dipper and Brambling being my target birds. Within a couple of minutes walking alongside the brook a Dipper was spotted. It dived for food then flew up the stream and away, I was really pleased with the sighting!

Plenty of Marsh, Great, Blue and Coal Tits were seen and heard on the walk, along with Goldfinch, Chaffinch, Bullfinch, Siskin, Redpoll, Nuthatch, Goldcrest, Yellowhammer and a Hawfinch (but I missed the Hawfinch) and Sparrowhawk. The Bramblings were a joy to see, two females and a male. Buzzards were very much in evidence as they soared fairly low over the woodland, a delight to watch.

It really felt as though Spring had arrived today!

Thanks Stuart and Ruth.

Good luck with your quest for a Yellowhammer Stuart!

I was in another area when the Hawfinch was spotted, it didn't hang around so by the time I got there it had flown away Ruth! Never mind I have Hawfinch on my year list but it would have been great to have had a closer view of one. I forgot to add Raven to my species list in the post, seen and heard, an awesome bird!
The blue sky was a treat to see yesterday and yes it does make for better pics!
