Default Cardross Yesterday Afternoon

Good Morning,

I paid a visit to Cardross Yesterday. Due to the weather (Winds) I could only spend an hour with my Tripod and Scope.

Amongst the Gulls, there were Greater Black Backed Gulls, Little Gulls, Black Headed Gulls and Herring Gulls. Also seen were a couple of Oystercatchers , Curlews (Seen from the Train between Cardross and Craigendoran), a couple of Mute Swans, Ducks, a few Canada Geese and also maybe about 30 Greylag Geese. There was also a pale grey goose with darker feathers. It looked between a Domestic White goose and a Greylag. It had an orange beak. I could'nt find it in my bird book.

Best Wishes

Jonathan

Hello Jonathathan,welcome to the forum!
A nice selection of birds you saw there!
The strange looking goose was probably a hybrid, they can look quite odd at times!
Do you get any Pink Footed Geese there at all?

Hi Jonathon, it's a domestic Greylag. It's been flying around with the flock in that area for a few years now. I last photographed it with Greylag at Longhaugh Point near Bishopton last September.

Welcome to the forum

cheers, John
