Devon must be cheap to run, the roads are all half the normal width.

We had a good time in Devon, Erindoors work went well and I spent the day at Dawlish Warren. It was a toss up between there and somewhere on Dartmoor, I wish I had done the latter but wanted to get some sea shore sightings!. I arrived at low tide and this was a problem. This is the view from the hide. Nice view, no birds, not even a crow.

I did see a few around the reserve, Wren, Dunnock, Whitethroat, Linnet, Blue, Great, Buzzard, Gulls (most of which are yet to be identified) Cormorant and many of the usual suspects.

What is that flower?

They are trying with this little reserve, they have crated some nice reed beds and while I heard many a warbler, including what I thought was a Grasshopper, nothing could be seen and there is no hide and it's difficult to see into the reed beds. It's also public with dogs allowed.

On the way home today we drove up through Dartmoor, visited New Bridge and did a bit of touristy stuff. I have never been there before and must go back and do it properly, it's a fantastically beautiful place.

Got home to discover the squirrel has done this to a feeder. I don't know what to do about him, it's seriously viscous.

You did well on your trip Peter! Weather looks great and your species list is a good one!
Love the Whitethroat capture, they are all brill photo's though! The flower is a Flag Iris.

I have a squirrel baffle fitted on my feeders and it does work. Amazon.co.uk: squirrel baffle
Not cheap but well worth the money in the long run!

Glad you enjoyed your time in Devon! I am off for a few days to Anglesey today. Will take a few piccies!
