Heading South

I am heading south for two weeks and will be staying just north of Peterborough.
Is there any places near by worth a visit, I googled the area and noticed Rutland Water, has anyone been there before. If yes what would I exprct to see.

I've not been there but hear it's worth a visit.

Anything else in the area worth a visit...

From the looks of the website Paul, it will take more than a day just to explore Rutland.
