Exclamation Cuckoo Watch

Cuckoos should be arriving in the UK and Ireland at any moment now. I thought it might be fun to track their progress.

Please post here when you hear or see your first Cuckoo of the year.

Cool Cuckoo

I also heard a cuckoo on the 13th of April in Kent.

We also have a local population of reed warblers as well as a bitten at our local lake.

Default 1st cuckoo east sussex

i live in a village just outside Lewes, East Sussex, and the sound of the cuckoo can be heard everyday from my garden which is wonderful. i heard my first one on April the 7th (always write it on my calendar), and finally managed to see it for the first time a week later, although it was at dusk so i only saw it's distinctive silhoette before it flew away. Anyone got any tips on cuckoo watching?

I appreciate this is a bit after the event, but I heard my first ever cuckoo on the 5th May just outside of Dowdeswell in Gloucestershire.

I also heard four different birds (four completely seperate locations) in mid-Wales on Sunday 24th.

I still haven't seen one though!

I heard my first Cuckoo on Sunday 31st May at Brandon Marsh Nature Reserve near Coventry, it was fairly distant and no chance of a sighting.
