Martin Mere
I'm hoping to visit Martin Mere in the not too distant future and would be grateful for any advice
on where best to take photos from. Are the hides close enough or do you need a mega big lens I have and usually use a 55 - 300mm Lens not huge I know but all I have. TIA Goldmaxx

Had my first visit to Martin Mere today, weather was superb. The was a Red Kite which I missed
 but did see plenty of Lapwings, 2 Quail (red) I believe, a pair of Ruff, Redshank, Buzzard, Canada and Greylag Geese, Goldfinch, Chaffinch, Greenfinch, Great and Blue TitI took 525 photos most were of the more exotic wildfowl. I took about 80 digiscope ones but most were just slightly out of focus, knew I should have gone to specsavers ;-) All in all very impressive place, well laid out with plenty of facilities. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will most definitely go back.

They have an event this weekend which I think we are going to on the Sunday. Looks interesting & as members, we don't get there half as much as we should
