Smile Hemel Hempstead peregrine

Hi All, Can I draw your attention to These BlogsHEMEL BIRDING: PEREGRINE Back at Winter RoostHERTFORDSHIRE BIRDING: Hemel PEREGRINE still roosting

I spent a lovely evening yesterday, despite the rush hour traffic, watching this beautiful bird.
She can be seen with the naked eye but bins or a scope are advised.

Image taken from the latter blog

Well worth a visit if your local to the area.

Graeme

That will be worth negotiating a roundabout for.

Default Hemel Hempstead Peregrine Falcon

Peregrine Falcon still perched on the BT building in Hemel Hempstead Town Centre this evening at 5pm, on the bottom of the main road from the M1.

Really easy to see, even whilst going round the magic roundabout. Possible to park in B&Q round the corner, it was fairly active, my son saw it diving onto a pigeon (sadly it missed), and it did a couple of circuits of the town centre before heading North.

The blog that Cassillis included in her post is excellent. The blog says it is a female, has returned for 3 winters, and is normally seen before 9am or after 4pm.

Hi guys,

Graeme, thankyou for highlighting my blog & for linking to my old photos on the other blog.
I have updated the details for viewing the Peregrine a bit now, a bit more precise, viewable here: HEMEL BIRDING: PEREGRINE Returns to Winter Roost

I have since seen another, different, Peregrine in Hemel, a large, dark Juvenile. Details are here: HEMEL BIRDING: New PEREGRINE, Late HOUSE MARTINS & Double 1st REDPOLLS, at Piccotts End Pools

Thanks Dean for the kind words about the blog.

Kind Regards,
VELORAPTOR / Dan
