Question Isle of Wight

I'm off to the Isle of Wight for Easter and would like some tips for good birding spots in the island.

I look forward to your tips!

Damn, Neil; I'm so gutted I missed this shout ~ simply by not being here back when ye posted it.

Did ye do the island? How did it go? Did ye see the Sanderlings skittering about on the sand, just over the wall beside the ferry office at Ryde?

I was shown them by a professional Guide, about a decade or so back. I was trying to get my ~ then ~ new wifes List up, and, living just over the water in Portsmouth at the time, I decided to try an advert in the birding press.

Disgusted to say, I can't even remember the guys name now But he was brilliant and seemed to know just where to find what ever bird ye mentioned wanting to see. In fact, having paid out for a few such " Guided Bird Tours ", all I can say is: Do It!

These Professional Guides are just staggering. Their knowledge of their areas is just incredible. They treat ye like Royalty. Nothing is too much trouble.

Err ..... saying that? If ye choose to join the living legend, my old mate Lee Evens, on one of His tours? Ye'd better be Fit, Fanatical and Free! Guy's a nutter! Explains naff all. Marches off at a break neck speed to god knows where. Suddenly stops and points. And there will be one of the birds ye've always dreamed of. Or, with Lee? Just as likely a whole damn flock of them, five feet in front of ye face!

Bottom line? Want to take a holiday in UK? Book a Professional Bird Guide. Ye Won't be disapointed!
