Default Who says Kingfishers cannot keep still

We were walking along a local reserve,the oither day when I
spotted something just hovering above the water, as we got nearer
I suddenly realised it was a kingfisher acting like a Kestrel
hovering about 20' above the water, I have never seen
this before, apart from the wings it was motionless.
Nature is amazing.

Very interesting shots Alan a few weeks ago we were lucky enough to see similar views of a pair of Kingfishers doing similar. Maybe not as high as your bird but they seemed to hover about 6 ft above the water before entering the nest,quite an exciting sighting.
