Hi Martyn,

I'm intrigued by your archaeological pursuits, perhaps we need to start calling you Indie

Thanks for the heads up on the ferry, but I was planning on ending that section of my walk at Fleetwood, then starting again in Knot End via the number 2 bus the following week

How do you rate Barnaby's Sands? Went there last April'ish and was very disappointed.

I wanted to know about Bourne Farm and made contact with the local group and got invited on to a dig. It was interesting enough but I didn't find the Staffordshire Horde. I did get an out of print pamphlet on the farm, though. I did get to go up in a plane to see the old roman fort in the Lake District. Good folk all round imo.

I really like it Over Wyre, it's like being in the wilds but close enough to a bus route if you don't mind waiting.

Barnaby's Sands are Ok if, like me, you like the solitude and sea birds. You don't get much variety but you do get some peace and quiet. I like to sit of the stone chair and ponder.
