Default Hello!

Joining this with a little trepidation, as I fear I may be a bit more casual about my birdwatching than most, but here goes, anyway...

Used to be YOC / RSPB Member for a very extended period, but lapsed for 15 -20 years now and focus on breeding and competing with agility dogs has made serious wildlife watching, nigh on impossible (it seems that small birds don't like 3 large dogs rushing to chase them off the fields, for some reason?)

However, I have recently started taking a lot more photographs of birds and that was what prompted me to look here - I saw a female duck on our lake that I couldn't positively identify and wanted to post a 'name this bird' picture here...

The bird in question has been identified now (female wigeon, apparently), but I thought I might hang around anyway, if that's OK with everyone else here?

Cheers

Ian

Welcome to the forum Ian. Doesn't matter how casual you are around here. There is definitely no dress code here.

Wow, lots of friendly welcomes already - thanks!

You'll probably soon get bored of swan pictures from me, but I'm sure someone will tell me when you are!

I am very lucky to own several acres of beautiful North Bucks countryside and it borders onto a lake owned by a pair of swans (amongst other wildlife and I'm sure there are some humans involved somewhere ). Every time I walk the dogs in decent weather I take the camera and just can't resist...
