Sue - the Hawke seem to me to have a decent eye relief but I don't wear my specs all the time. I guess you would need to try them for yourself. They are very good bins and I'm still impressed with...

I've got a copy of Wildfowl of the World by Eric Soothill and Peter Whitehead. It's ok for what I want and only cost a couple of quid although it's a hardback copy. It was first published in 1979.

BotD was a swallow that brushed my jacket sleeve as I was commuting home from work on my motorcycle. He didn't even flinch and I didn't slow down. :)

I'm going on my first guided birding walk next Saturday, yeah I know. ;) It's mainly to get to see hen harriers and dippers and just to get out in Bowland as even though it's on my doorstep(30 miles)...

I use that lens. I keep it at f8 and alter everything to fit. Like everything else, practice makes perfect but sometimes a little compact camera gives good results.
