Default Great Grey Shrike in SUFFOLK

26th January 2012. At 1320 - 1400 I saw a Great Grey Shrike at Saint Helen's, Santon Downham, Suffolk. Go to car park [no restrictions], walk 200 yards at far end of car park until you come to a railway tunnel. Opposite the tunnel entrance on the right is a large, open field. In the centre of the field is a dead, lone Pine Tree. The bird was at the top of tree. It was photographed by 2 visiting birders and flew to the top of a tree on the edge of the field.

What a great sighting!

Welcome to the forum and thanks for putting out the news on here of the GG Shrike. Super news for those who can manage to see the bird.

Default Norfolk not Suffolk.......sorry

The County Boundary is so very close to the place I saw the bird, I thought it was Suffolk but on closer investigation it is JUST in Norfolk.
