On the topic of painted ladies, Butterfly Conservation are desperate for people to submit their sightings to help monitor this lovely species. They are also looking for Humming-bird hawk-moth sightings too. You can help here: Migrant Watch - Butterfly Conservation

It doesn't take long at all and I'm sure they'd appreciate it!

Thanks for the link/info Caz......i've just submitted my Painted Lady sighting and the Humming-bird Hawmoth that I saw in June too!

A great pic, Ruth! Good camouflage there! I had 4 Peacocks and 1 Painted lady on the Buddleia earlier this afternoon! Flying ants here also!

Thanks,I'd nearly trod on her earlier as she was basking on the stones but luckily she flew onto the flower.

We saw a wild white Buddleia covered with Peacocks on Sunday at the nature reserve.......a splendid sight against the white flowers!

Painted Lady's are everywhere at Fife Ness, there were dozens of them flying around at the coastal walkway yesterday evening .
