I'll keep you updated and I'll work out how to upload my pics and video from the last couple of days.
Incidentaly, the second youtube video is showing a black bin bag full of inflated balloons however the bridge support it is floating towards is the same one that the whale stranded against on Monday night.

Stealth Gear Wildlife Photography Specialists

If you click on the wildlife crime section you can read the report of the last three days there as well as finding out a bit about the BDMLR(It also has my pics and video because someone else did it for me!).
I phoned the sighting into birdline on Monday night and spoke to a few guys from RSPB on Tuesday at the locus.

Thanks for the welcome folks, I'm a birder as well so if it's alright I'll stick around :-)

Hi Craig

You are more than welcome to use the images for that purpose, if you wish higher res images let me know, I am in Preston at moment so wont have access to my original images until Sunday evening when I return home

Cheers, John

Many thanks John. I can count, honest (although my brain is a bit addled after the week I've had!) There are three images in particular that are excellent specifically for the purpose of identification as well as showing the deterioration of the poor thing.

Nothing.

There have been two reports of a whale in the Gareloch but I had two minke whales in there two weeks ago so it's unlikely to be our Northern Bottlenose. Either way it's in deep water and a sea loch.

We have plans in place should it turn up but sadly I really dont expect it to be alive. Arrangements will hopefully be made for a PM of the carcass as it's of scientific interest because there isn't an awful lot known of this species.

I promise to keep folks posted

Craig

Thanks Craig, like you i'm not too optimistic as there is usually a reason why these Whales make their way inland,ie;usually that they are ill or injured.......fingers crossed tho!

Hi Craig

You might know a friend of mine, John Simpson? He works with the MOD Police and is a Wildlife Liason Officer.

Cheers, John

Yes I do know John. Haven't caught up with him in ages and was hoping to get a hold of him in relation to those recent sightings on his beat.
