Default 1st of the year!

I've just seen my first Brimstone butterfly of the year......and it's October 5th!!!
I'm quite chuffed as it was feeding on the Sweet Peas that I've grown from last years seed!
Has anyone else seen anything somewhat "out of season" while we've had this wonderful spell of dry weather?

Smile Butterflies

I saw a butterfly this weekend.

I think it was a Tortoiseshell.

A lovely garden sighting for you, Ruth! I saw a few earlier in the summer, a lovely butterfly the Brimstone! I was fortunate enough to get a couple of photo's, usually they are so flighty and land way beyond clear vision of them!
I haven't seen anything out of season though..yet!

I seen a Peacock Butterfly yesterday at Hogganfield Loch, and considering the way the weather has been up here recently, it's living on borrowed time

cheers, John
