Are they Dahlias?

I take it you've recently moved in, looks like a well established garden backing onto some trees.

I havent a clue what the flowers are, we have only moved here 18 days ago.

They are Dahlias and very pretty colours they are too! Watch out for earwigs if you pick them for indoors Dave! Great Red-tailed bumble bee pics! I have had what seems hundreds of Hoverflies this summer on the flowers in my garden! They are quite obliging when you get your camera out!
