Default Mull Update

Went to Mull, must say WHAT a place, didn't want to leave.

Stayed on the south west of the island, place called Scoor House.

Saw lots of wildlife, went on one of the guided tours, wish we had done that on 1 of the 1st days, we would of known the best places then lol oh well. On the tour at lunch time, we sat out in a grassy area with a waterfall to the side, and a golden eagle above us was brilliant, he flew around then went and sat in the same place. There was a herd of red deer on the sky line, stag was there too. Had a really good day out, all the people on the tour all after the same thing. Really nice chatting to others, was on the tour from 9am - 6pm well worth it.

We saw on the tour and just on our own,

Golden Eagles
White Tailed Sea Eagles
Lots of herons
Many different gulls
Hooded crows
Buzzards
Hen Harriers, they was on the private road to the house, didn't manage any pics though
Mountain Hare
Godwits
Seals, common and grey
Dolphins, hiding on the pic lol
Otters, well I didn't but others did typical
Red deer galore, was right next to the house every night and morning
Lizards
Toads
Crabs
Red Kite on the way to Mull
Highland Cattle
Pigs
Sheep, sheep and more sheep
Loads af little birds, like the robins, chaffinch, wagtails etc.

Will update list if I remember anything else.

Had a fantastic time, took a trip to the sea eagle hide, really enjoyed it but didnt see a thing
Planning on going again early next year, back to the same place.
Tried to cover the whole Island, we also went to Ulva, lovely place and the food at the boathouse was superb, just didn't realise there was so much on the Island, would definitely spend a full day there next time.
Didn't manage to get to Iona or any of the other Islands but I am sure we will fit them in next time.
Where we stayed was ideal, seemed most of the wildlife was concentrated in the south west of the Island, so next time we will be better prepared.

Well that's about it really, if I think of anything will add later.
Some pics are better than others, was just glad I saw everything I wanted, photos were an added bonus.

Wish we could do a month there instead of a week!

Posted twice, put it on my old thread then tried to remove it to start a new one, sorry

So glad you had a great time, what a fantastic place the Isle of Mull is, and you went to Ulva too, I hope to visit again in the next couple of years.

I felt the same when we went in August, I can't wait to go back. You are so right about the "Bus Safari" It didn't feel like a guided tour, it was friendly and we all spotted stuff together. Did you go with Arthur from Cheshire?

I can recommend Mull Charters (Amazing views of Eagles and seals adn MArtin adn his wife are really nice) and Tobermory Boat Charters too (more for whale watching) - we saw Minkie whales and sea birds galore.

Thanks for the report and sharing your pics, you bought back really happy memories of one of my favourite holidays ever. I WANNA GO BACK NOW!!!!!!!

Wild About Mull

read this from Brian - I can assure readers it's a fairly typical Safari on Mull.
