Default Fox Trot!

We managed an hour at our local reserve last night and were scanning the mere and the far fields looking at the geese......mainly Canadas with a few Greylag, there must have been about 200+......when we heard them start to honk and begin to look disturbed, feathers were certainly ruffled!
It was going quite gloomy by now so a bit of an effort to see into the distance but suddenly 2 Foxes appeared on the edge of the field and 1 of them started to run at the flock causing them to split into 2 groups.....creating a right kerfoffle!
I don't think the Geese were ever in danger of being caught as they didn't take off completely only a few flaps to get them away from the Fox which after a few more runs at them seemed to soon tire and went and sat with the other one eventually.
I think they might have been youngsters practising stalking?
Quite a sight tho and something I've never witnessed before!

I saw a fox trying to catch lapwings earlier this year... it was hilarious!

I had a fox in the garden walk straight past some feeding Pheasants. Neither party too more than a glance at the other.

I've never seen any chasing/hunting before......glad they didn't catch one tho as it would have been a bit gruesome to watch!
