Default Anyone for a feather id?

Hi all, A month and a bit ago I was in Northumberland with a friend and whilst we were at Northumberland National Park we found this feather. Any idea's what it is?

Looks like a female Pheasants secondary flight feather

I did think that but when I was talking to Ken the guy who I went with he said that we were to far into Grouse country to see pheasant.

The feather could have been blown in by the wind, doesn't necesary mean the bird was there at that location
