I did lots of wonderful coastal walking in Northumberland and on Hadrians Wall in Cumbria last week. Captured pics (mostly very long distance) of many birds that I can't positively ID from my books so would be grateful for your assistance. (I must get myself an even better zoom lens).
First one is a wagtail of some kind I'm sure but which? This was in Cumbria. Second is of a common Gull on left I think but what is the character in the centre? Might it be a snipe? Third, another common Gull in foreground but is the other a Mediterranean Gull? Fouth - no idea! Fifth, is that a juvenile Redshank? Three more to follow in another post Thanks, Paul |

![]() Definitely Pied for me because of the lack of a sharp border between head and body and the black bib on White is also a sharp edge where as this bib clearly has mottled/blurred edges. ![]() See the sharp edges to this White Wagtail. Last edited by Twitcheruth; 25-08-10 at 01:22 PM. |
