Default Song or Mistle Thrush.

This Thrush flew into my garden earlier this morning! It stayed for a couple of minutes nervously scanning the area. Judging by size and arrow spots I am saying Song Thrush and I reckon a young one. I will have to check my BTO records later to see when the last time was that I spotted one in my garden.

Thoughts anyone?

I think it's a mistle thrush as the spots seem quite large.

The spots are arrow head shape in Song and rounded in Mistle.

Default Song or mistle thrush

Thought Mistle initially but the more I look I side with the juve Song Thrush idea. Too dark colouring and spots more like Song Thrush as Twitcheruth said.

Thank you all for your inputs on ID!

Just checked my BTO records and it was December 2008 the last time I spotted a Song Thrush in my garden, I knew it had been a long time but not that long ago!!! Time flies!!

However it is not to say that one hasn't visited my garden just that I haven't actually spotted one at the time. I remember watching one several years ago crack open a snail on a rock in my garden, the one and only time I have seen one do this.
