I think it's a Willow Warbler. The legs on a Chiffchaff are dark.

Definitely Willow Warbler. Leg colour, bright under-eye crescent and longer supercillium are all giveaway features. Hope this helps ☺

Some very good ID information on these two at Flickr: Discussing SEPARATING WILLOW WARBLERS and CHIFFCHAFFS in Birds and Wildlife UK

Go on confuse all the more. What's a supercillium? I'll look it up in my book guide LOL

Another subject. What is a Ross's. I guess it's a slang word for certain birds?

Couldn't you have just said eyebrows...........LOL

First thing I learnt about birding was on this forum and it was about the colour of the legs!

Second thing I learnt was to put - "I think" or "It might be" before any predictions. There are some around who have been doing this for more years than the weeks I have been doing.....

This is why I love this place.

It just seems to be someone's goose.

Ross's Goose - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

And if it was named in honour of Bernard R. Ross, shouldn't it be just Ross' Goose ?? Grammar were not one of me bestest subjects but I knows about apostrophes.
