OOOhh yes wouldn't have missed that for the world (see thread "One to make you Giggle") Damn shame they didn't make it, animal rights activist should be stuffed in a barrel with 1000 mink for a month.

I always think Neumans Flash has the potential to be a truly great site, but every time I go its seems to let you down. When I called in my lunch break on the 10th apart from the 100s of Lapwing and few Curlew the only waders were 4 Redshank. A site like that should surely be doing a lot better. Is it down to my infrequent visits, poor management the mink or what ?

You must have been unlucky as we usually see loads when we go which is often as it's walkable from our house.
Last time we saw a Peregrine take a juv Moorhen and carry it off.
You can see my Neumanns list here;

I take it the Black Guillemot picture on your banner wasn't taken at Neumans.
Not wishing to knock your patch here but all through spring this year your list only show Redshank, LRP, Snipe and Oystercatcher in waders. The size and layout of the place should surely produce a little more don't you think. Like I've already said I'm not knocking your patch or your records, suppose I'm never pleased.

lol,no the Tysties were captured at Portpatrick,Dumfries & Galloway...they nest in the harbour wall there.

I think the environment of Neumanns (ie;lime based soil & water) might have something to do with the lack of waders as it must affect the type and amount of food supply in the flash itself.......tho I must admit that I'm thrilled with RP,LRP,Snipe,G.Plover,Ruff,Greenshank,L.Stint and Wood Sand! Not to mention Bittern,G.N. Diver,LSW and Black Terns at the adjacent Marbury CP.

Had a weekend trip out to Anglesey at the end of last winter and was told Holyhead Harbour has them, but didn't see them off the breakwater.
