Default Brambling?

Apologies (as ever!) for the quality of this pic, but is it a brambling?

It was against the light and consorting with a small group of reed buntings, which didn't help my identification skills!

In real life the orange on the breast was warmer and the head a quite distinct dark grey.

Good one Stuart. I've been looking so hard at every Chaffinch in the garden, taken hundreds of pictures to check and no luck here.

Didn't see a chaffinch all day Peter, this one seemed to prefer the company of reed buntings
