Yes, they'll soon be changing. In reality there's a lot of variation with moult timing and occasionally you'll see full breeding plumage birds in mid-winter. First-year birds will take longer to acquire their dark heads. They get them eventually (though perhaps not solidly dark like the adults) but for a while in the spring nearly all the adults are in full plumage while the first-years still look quite wintery.

Saw 1 BH Gull with a full chocolate brown head yesterday......it begins!!!
