Default Gull ID

Can anyone please help with this Gull ID? The pictures won't tell you much but it was a pure white head with a black eye and yellow beak. It's worth pointing out that it was 13 January and all the birds in my book which looked about right only matched if you considered their summer plumage.

I'm saying Common Gull which hasn't taken on it's winter plumage or changed very early. What do you think? I know nothing about Gulls.

Again, sorry about the photos!

Thanks for that John. Would it have taken on it's summer plumage early or could it have just not changed at all? Really haven't taken an interest in Gulls before so I've never noticed.
